For someone who is retired it seems like this is a busy week for me. Robin is out of town for the first three days, so all of the “home activities” are up to me; and there are several things we’ve scheduled for tomorrow and really the rest of the week. It’s all ok as long as I don’t forget something important so I’m armed with a mountain of notes and lists. It was almost overwhelming for a time; then I read these words from my devotion today, “When I gave you My Spirit, I empowered you to live beyond your natural ability and strength. That’s why it is so wrong to measure your energy level against the challenges ahead of you. The issue is not your strength but Mine, which is limitless.”

Isn’t that what the Christian life is all about anyway? We are living beyond ourselves, or trying to do that. Sometimes we’re better at doing it than others, but that’s the goal. A couple of verses accompanied this devotion:

“For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Cor 5:7
“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” Gal 5: 25
